?It is Herodotus. He founded the Greek tradition of writing history. While he used no sources, he traveled to the sites that he was writing about. He used prose which was a novel idea because most before him wrote in dactylic hexameter. He also weaved some tall tales that may have been exaggerated.
The second tradition of writing is the Jewish tradition. They use genealogies to show sorces and divine inspiration.
