What exactly is Britain?
Dr Goat - Great minds think alike -
or Fools seldom differ.
To the Romans it was that part of an island now occupied by England and Wales. What is now Scotland was to the Romans Caledonia, and they called Ireland Hibernia.
Because of this if one wants to include Scotland some refer to "Great Britain" as in encompassing the entire island.
The country now occupying it is called the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland, or the United Kingdom for short. This shows that "Great Britain" includes England, Wales and Scotland.
All the rest is fluff.
I don't know what it is except a country that's lost its identity
google it -
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/United_King...
GREAT Britain is the big island containing England, Scotland and Wales. The United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland is just exactly what is says on the tin.
The Biggest island of the British Isles its formal name is Great Britain,
There are three country's with in the island, Scotland, England and Wales.
The United Kingdom also includes the Channel Islands, the Isle of Mann and Northern Ireland, it is for this reason that people hate it when americans refer to the UK as Britain.
Its also the place I call home
