I live in CA. My underage cousin is a foster child, a run away, 5 mths pregnant. She is living somewhere in CA, with the 26 yr. old male. She has no intentions of going back to a foster home nor shelter. She will be giving birth, and has private insurance. Most likely she WILL be giving birth in a hospital.She will still be 17 when she gives birth.
What are the HOSPITAL guidelines and regulations if there is a suspected underage minor with a much older male?
He could be holding her hostage for all they know. She dose have a missing report on her filed with the local police dept and she is a ward of the court until she is 18/graduates and completes all requirements to leave the system.
What can happen to her? I'm so worried I want her to come home and leave this situation.What can the hospital do?The hospital has a duty to report suspected child abuse, including statutory rape, so they will likely contact the police.if she goes to a hospital, they will see her record and call someone probably the police about the missing report. probably not until after she has given birth.
