Track is coming help!!!?

  • in track i do the 1mile and the 2mile. i need to get my times down. my mile right now is 4:55 and my 2mile is 11:13 (witch was in a 5k race at the 2mile mark). i want to get my mile time to at the least 4:35 and i want to get my 2mile time down to 10:00.
    if there is any way to get to my goal then please help, thanks!


  • Keep on training in the off season is the number one thing. Also, never get too far away from working in speed. You are running decent times already, but remember, track is about speed. Work in pick-ups into distance runs. Do strides after long runs.


  • well you want to get a good base going and strengthen your body by doing long runs, hills, and core training. Once you've built up a good base you'll want to be doing interval runs and speed workouts such as 800 repeats and various distances.
