phpBB2 => vB??

  • Is is possible to convert it?
    (and remember this is phpBB2)

  • There is an unofficial beta phpBB2 import script over at vbulletin.org:

    My guess is that if there is ever an official script, it won't be until sometime after vB 3 is released.


  • I'd pay up to $20 for the converter if it keeps all my templates intact (don't know if this is possible) but I won't pay more than $10 if it doesn't. Take that to the bank. ;) ASAP would be nice. :)

  • Just thought I would update everyone...

    We upgraded to vB from phpBB2 about 3 weeks ago now... No problems what so ever... the only things which weren't imported were polls and announcements...

    it is still in beta but when the full version is released it should be able to convert everything.


  • okay....so we have any progress on this? I AM buying vB next week Monday providing I can,at the very least, keep my threads intact. Ideally, I'd like to keep all my styles intact too. So we any closer to a solution on a phpbb2 Final converter? :)

    We're actually going to be programing one we will charge about $15 - $20 for the converter. If you're interstered let me know.

  • Isnt there anyone who can do a converter for phpbb2? I could use one pretty bad right now.

  • Okay. Now that phpBB2 has gone final will there be an official converter made?

    Or does anyone know of a current un-official converter? I searched at vBulletin.org but couldn't locate anything.

    I am looking to convert our site from phpBB2 to vB sometime within the next few weeks as we will be launching a big advertising campaign.

    For the time being it looks like I and many others are stuck with phpBB2 until a converter is made :(

    Anyone know of one or have an ETA?

  • I'm not an expert but since phpBB2 is beta, and I read that the code could change alot from the phpBB2 Dev board (ME: Try vB, it's great, see., Cleint: NO, I want a free BB :) ) so it could be difficult. If you really want it, then I'm sure someone could do it for around $15 (not me, really) so it be available. Just an opinion.

    Sorry if I'm incorrect. I'm not an expert :D

  • Well the importing is done but we face some error :

    1) All the quote in phpBB2.0.1 is not importer properly. I am using the offical import script Example :
