My Friend got MY cell phone confisicated and I have a detention? Fair?

    Here's what happened:
    During a reading hour with no teacher supervision, I had given my friend my phone because it started making small noises and I asked him to fix it. He fixed it but soon after the bell rang and we went to the hallway to our lockers, I wasn't able to get my phone back during this time. We had different classes next and what happend in his class is that he had my phone still and it suddenly made a ringer noise because he turned it off. He got it confiscated.

    I told the teacher it was my phone and if I could have it back afterschool. She said that you will have to go to the office to get it back.
    So my friend and I go to the office to get the phone back and the person at the desk tells that we both have detentions.

    ***My reason of me having detention, even though I was not even in the room when it occured, was because of the fact that the phone was owned by me.****

    is that fair or not?

  • Well, I am sure that he didn't mean to get your cell phone to be taken away because he was trying to fix your cell phone at that time.


  • Not fair and I'd ask to speak to the principal and explain why it's not fair. Tell him the whole story.


  • well, i think it is kind of fair but then again schools are over rated about rules with phones anyway. At least you get to do the detention together and it wasnt just blamed on you because it was your phone, or blamed on him for having the phone. could you just have turned it off and try to fix it after school? never mind but i would say its fair because the "schools" say that yu not aloud your mobil phones out.. but no its unfair because school rules are taken too seriously!!
