within the past couple of cvs builds it seems xbmc has changed the way it accesses its menu content. before there weren't any folders within the skin/media directory, just the textures.xpr file. and all i needed to do to change the 'my programs' picture was to add programs.png and point the menu to it within the home.xml file. now there is a home file in pal16x9 and pal. (i imagine the later is for 4x3).
i tried the old method of just placing my png files in the media folder and pointing changed the references within the home.xml files but all i get is a black screen.
i tried both and ensured the programs.png was in the media directory and the file specific directory as shown below.
4x3home-myprograms\programs.png
programs.png
e:\apps\xbmc\skin\project mayhem iii\media\programs.png
any suggestions?and see the online manual for skinning help - all the controls are outlined there.

jonathani think i might have it. in sign of desperation i deleted the reference to 4x3home-myprograms within the home.xml script. now for my programs, every picture in the media folder is being disaplay in sequence. so in theory i should be able to place all these files in the 4x3home-myprograms directory and xbmc would then once again, display these pictures in sequence under my programs?
i just need to play with it... this means more photoshop time.
a good question would be, why is there a 4x3 and 16x9 for everything except my videos? it seems that the 16x9 my video folder is referred to in both home.xml files.the controls have completely changed.
first, notice the tag says multiimage now. the tag expects a folder name. this is a new control which creates a slideshow by cycles thru the images found in the folder.
if you want to change the my programs button to point to your image you need to put the back to just image, and change the tag back to the old tag.#If you have any other info about this subject , Please add it free.# |
