Major issues with internet connection, please help!?

  • So we just changed over to a new ISP and I haven't been able to connect to the internet. I called the company and we did all the troubleshooting you could possibly do and they said I was setup properly but I still couldn't connect.

    So then I try to connect with my laptop and I CAN! I first had to punch in a static IP address in order for it to work. My question is, why can't I connect to the internet on my desktop? Before we got a new ISP I had absolutely no problems connecting on my desktop. I have no clue what's wrong, please help!
