I need a good attention getter for my persuasive speech on global warming...?

  • I am doing my speech on how global warming is real and i need to gain my audiences attention.

    Also, if you have any good ideas or tips to help me make for a better speech, please let me know. I need all the help i can get!!!!


  • Did you know in 1976 global cooling was the scare?

    It will definitaly get the attention of the younger generation who has no clue how global warming became so "important"

    You could dicscuss why people decided that they were wrong.

  • Since this year is the coldest on record for the last twenty years your probably going to have to wait until summer to get people to believe it. August or September seem the like the hottest months...And maybe hold the conference in Pheonix or Palm Springs.

    Otherwise anybody who is paying attention knows that the whole Global warming thing is just an Al Gore PG&E cash cow that has no basis in reality...Global warming is a terrible hoax being perpetrated on people to swindle them out of money for "carbon credits".

    Talk to Al Gore, he showed us perfectly how to manipulate data and how to pick and choose statistics to make an illusion reality...good luck with that.


  • People have suffered from mass hysteria in the past, inspiring people to do very stupid things, because of false beliefs.

    Global warming is very similar to the relatively recent "penis-panic" that occurred in the congo - in that it got many otherwise sensible people to react in a terrible and -ill thought out way to unfounded rumors.

    On April, 2008, Kinshasa, Democratic Republic of Congo, the police arrested 14 suspected victims (of penis snatching) and sorcerers accused of using black magic or witchcraft to steal (make disappear) or shrink men's penises to extort cash for cure, amid a wave of panic. Arrests were made in an effort to avoid bloodshed seen in Ghana a decade ago, when 12 alleged penis snatchers were beaten to death by mobs.

  • Wait until the middle of summer for starters.

    Since we've been in a cooling period for the last 10 years it will be very difficult to persuade people that global warming is real, especially during one of the coldest winters in the last 30 years.

    Good luck. Wish I could help more. It's very hard to convince people of something that isn't happening.


  • wear like 2 sweaters or something and say wow its hot, and scientists say it could get even hotter.

    either that or come in shorts. as someone mentioned visual effects work great. it has to be something that some can relate too though...i heard some kids of animals are disappearing in the north because its getting too hot for themor something. show ice melting. show something people can relate to or can sympathize with

    all u jerks that try to say global warming isnt real didnt read the effin question. i dont think global warming is real btw. but if uwant a good speech u have to do something people will say hey i can relate.


  • If have sort of visual effect use that. Also bring several objects in so that the people can see what you are talking about. When you are talking change on energy and tone depending on the scenario. When you are talking about when things are getting better if we recycle or reuse, have a positive tone. When talking about the effect of global warming, use a serious tone.

    of course if you use something like this you'll have to back it up with overwhelming evidence.....

    It was hoax just like global warming.
