Help me! Our Councilor has no idea what she's doing.?

  • The councilor at our school is never available! She's always angry and claims she's busy when we go to her to ask questions! I need to send my applications to some universities in 3 days or less and everytime I ask her something about them she says she's busy writting *MY* recomendation letter & that i should be thankful and let her focus ! the simpleset questions like: what is our school diploma called in english? GOD she's killing me! & ive given her my report card that's in arabic & asked her to get it traslated through the school she left it on her desk for weeks ! and now i got to send my paper work late. My parents are traveling and wont be back for a long time, so i really have to do everything on my own!
    I live in saudi arabia, and im applying to the states, there's so many requirments! god i'm sorry for complaining.. what i wanted to ask is.. how do we write a personal statement? does it have to be similar to an essay.. or just random paragraphs discussing me personality, capabilities, talents ... bla bla
    and another question.. would universities consider recomendation letters, certificares, secondary school reports, financial capabily statements and/or SAT & TOEFL scores after the deadlines if i've already submitted the online part of the application?

  • personal statement: just write about yourself. why you want to study what you want to study. your plans.

    will universities accept stuff after the deadline: have no idea. call or email an admissions counselor and you can ask them if they will give you more time to get in your paper work. They may give you an extension.
