the tape began running at time before stock exchanged opened . it was
usually cut and placed on a hanging board. this day for some reason
earlier than the tragic news began, the clerk did not cut it. and when
the first news of the attempt and the ultimate news , the tape just
kept running into a waste basket. I was a bond trader at the time. we
in group just sat stunned. when we decide to leave. I walked past the
basket . the complete day was there. impulse told me to cut and roll
it.which is how it is now and has been for the 40 odd years. it is
still clear fine condition. I do not want to unroll it again unless
asked the length for interested reason. memory serves it is minimum
of 12 feet more like 17 feet. there must be a historical home for it.
it contains every mkt and other comment of the day.concerning activity
at hospital etc etc. petroc-gapetrco..
What a great piece of history. What exactly are you seeking? Places
that would be interested in displaying/purchasing the tape?
