I am getting two or three ferrets within the next two months. I went to to a little store today (not from bad breeders) and I held one. It was a eight week old baby and its teeth sunk into my skin! It hurt so badly and it was bleeding. When I get them, how long would it take for them to learn not to bite me so hard. I would play with them for a few hours a day and if they bit, I would scruff them. Thanks for helping! : )It all depends on how consistent your training is. Ferrets usually grow out of the biting stage. My ferret has only bit me like that once the day i got her, and since then i would scruff her when she would nip and bite. She doesnt bite at all unless in a playful manner. I would say in 2 months, with daily training all 3 will be trained. Scruff them and put them back in their cage. Remember, baby ferrets have poor eye sight and want to play with your feet a lot cus they think they are ferrets. They are great animals though. I would stick with getting two. Remeber, they are very time consuming. Need to be out of their cage for at least 4 hours a day, preferably roaming at all times when your home if the hosue is safe. As long as you are consistent in correcting them, and always being sure if they bite to hard to fix it, than it shouldn't take long. Sometimes though the ferrets can be very difficult to train. If scruffing doesn't work, you can buy something called "Bitter Apple" and you apply it to your fingers (or wherever they seem to like to bite), and one taste of that will stop them.
Also, if they bite, make a loud scream, like go "OW" really high pitched, this is how you tell them they are hurting you.. after that "OW", say NO and scruff them.
