Who recorded the song: "I Am Canada" heard on Ontario pop/easy
listening radio late 70s. Canadian recording related possibly to
bicentennial. Need label and year. Larry Evoy sort of vocal with
backup chorus . Lyrics: "I am Canada, I'm a lover of life...I'm a
dreamer of dreams." other lyrics: "...from Signal Hill, to
Beacon Hill... from Parliament Hill to..."Rainbow,
Your information answers the question 'who wrote it' and the year.
Further search mentions Skip Prokop as writing the music, I guess I
can 'assume' he recorded it also. I may have to email him to verify.
Go ahead and post your answer as 'official.'
Thank you,
CrowmoonHi crowmoon,
I'm glad I could help. Would you like me to post it as an official answer?
Best regards,
Rainbowrainbow,
Looks like this is the one, at least on the right track. I've called
numerous stations, checked in with Arthur Black/Danny Marks... and
asked several 'experts' and this is the the most help so far. Thank
you. Crowmooncrowmoon --
A song called "I Am Canada" was co-written by Dennis Whitty, who
apparently is a fairly obscure country/rock singer. His website is
linked here:

However, I haven't been able to confirm that his "I Am Canada" is the
one that interests you or, if it is, that he was the singer that you
heard.
