FA Cup Games - Money Question
Is money from the gate split between the two teams? - If a small club is matched against a big club in an away game does the big club get all the money from the gate or do the two teams split evenly?
In cup competitions with Home-and-Away games this doesn't matter - Both clubs get a home crowd - But in the FA cup, isn't it a bigger monetary gain for the smaller clubs to advance? - I heard that Exeter "solved their money problems" with the two matches agains ManU - How could that be if all they got was the money from only one Home game?
Also with TV money from the second game. The money there is per club, and by the 3rd round it is a huge sum for a Conference side. Also highlights money from the first game.
They also have three lots of prize money (4th qualifier to 2nd round).
Plus they'll have done more than normal business from merchandise over the past few weeks, perhaps increasing regular gates a little too.
