Questions about Sessions, Cookies and Chocolate Milk

  • Ok I have been reading a little about PHP sessions to get a grip on this... My questions are this:

    Are you using the default session handlers or have you built your own?
    Why use the Sessionhash variable over a temporary cookie containing the same information?
    Are the session objects stored in files, shared memory or the database (like they currently are)?
    Instead of relying on the "Lastvisit" time to determine what is read and unread will this be determined by the Session? Meaning if the session is still valid will unread messages be marked as unread?

    Oh I forgot about chocolate milk... which do you prefer? Nestle Quik, Hershey Syrup or Ovaltine? :)


  • It contains Whey which is a milk product so :p


  • 1. Built our own. PHP's sessions are insecure and PHP4 only (not to mention you need a switch to enable them even then)
    2. Disable all cookies, now try to browse a private forum.
    3. Right now, db, but we're still working
    4. Right now it works with lastvisit.

    4.5. NesQuik (yes, that's what it's called now) isn't bad. :) [Ok, freddie just reminded me with his post. I gotta go with YooHoo too]

    It is when you put it in milk like I always had it..

    Of the three listed, my favorite is Hershey's Syrup. Maybe because they have a cool factory with a tour in North California not far from my mother's house and they have they huge indoor swimming pool like vats of chocolate in there.
