1. What are my chances of finding an HR job in Regina? Are there a lot available?
ANSWER: there are plenty of jobs available in Regina, which is going through an economic boom. Try this website: www.saskjobs.ca
2. Where I can enrol/study about Canadian/Saskatchewan Labour Laws as well as how to administer benefits (retirement, medical, etc.)?
Try the website of the provincial ministry of labour (try www.gov.sk.ca) and the Faculty of Management at the University of Regina. There is a professional development association for human resources professionals in Regina, but I don't know the exact name. I'll check.
3. Do I need certification as a Human Resource professional before I can work in Regina?
ANSWER: I don't believe formal certification is needed, though a check with the ministry of labour would be helpful.
4. Are there any legitimate telecommute/work from home jobs available in Regina? (may be in the call center/customer service industry)
ANSWER: there are a substantial number of call centres in Regina. Check the websites of SaskTel, StarTek, Staples, Sears Canada and the Canadian Cancer Society, all of which run large call centres here.
5. What is the average cost of child care for a 4 year old kid who's attending preschool?
To those who will answer my questions and give a lot of information, thank you in advance. You do understand that Regina is a little bit colder in winter than the Philippines. That -40C is not uncommon in winter, And it can go as long as 10 weeks never going above 0C. On the other hand, the summers are nice and the humidity is generally quite low.
When you get a car, make sure you understand about the "block heater". Because in the winter, whenever it will go below -15C that you have to plug your car into electric power if you want it to start the next morning.
Also, there are few legitimate work at home jobs anywhere.
Expect to pay $400 to $600 a month for child care.
You can study at the University of Saskatchewan
http://regionalhelpwanted.com/regina-job... is one site to check
another would be

This site below should give you details on what you need in terms of certification for HR Professional there in Sasktachewan

The others are right, Regina gets cold in the winter down to -40 to -45C and its a very flat area of Canada but that said most people do like living there. The summers are more like Phillipians temps 25-30C. Winter is Oct-April and summer from June-September. Its a city of about 500,000 out in the middle of the prairies. Once settled and looking elsewhere in canada you should check out Vancouver as well. . Much milder climate

There is an online filipino community which has more info perhaps of interest to you http://www.ipinoy.ca/
Child Care can be expensive full time out of school is $70-$100 per day here depending if private (someones house) or formal daycare. I dont know exactly rates there in regina but you could do some searching on-line Once they hit kindergarten (age 5) they only need half day and it gets much cheaper.
Check out the classifed ads in the local regina newspapers
