how do you make it so that anyone can view it (how do you get a web address"www.url.com")You buy the domain name. ICANN sells them through their accredited registrars. http://www.icann.org/en/registrars/accre... Setting up or paying for a web server is entirely separate. (It's not a good idea to buy the name from the same place you're buying hosting.)1) buy / get webspace and possibly a url 2) find out how to upload to their server 3) follow instructions 4) doneyou have to go to a domain service provider site like www.register.com and buy the name and webspace. Why use technology in teaching?Rokin07 what century are you in? They don't use blackboard in IT rooms firstly chalk dust getting into the computer. Most IT rooms use white board. Much cleaner to use. » battle between ground obs and doppler obs
Note:I am not specifically asking for a focus on just this situation on the Discovery channel recently but an overall query in your situations day in and day out /stormchasing/ weather situations etc Re: What I found more interesting about this episode (Discovery channel Stormchaser) was the battle between (1) ground observing / scouting and (2) doppler observations What do you personally focus more on (1) or (2) ? (yeah I know you all do both but which do you depend on the most when it comes down to really knowing which way to go, when etc etcThere wasn't really a "battle" -- the Doppler was completely reversed so it was in error... » MF, LF, film or digital... and do I want to go there at all?
Hi all. I need to kick this around with some photographers, there is no where else to turn other than the Internet. I want to make a major change in my photography. I am tired of street photography, which I have pursued for years. I will never abandon it, esp. when traveling, but I really go out and shoot people because it is easy for me. I grab one of my digital Rangefinders, and ride public transportation for a few hours. It's fun, and gets me out of the office. I like people and food stands and cities, it's where I spend my life. But I'm bored by it. What next? Well, I have always admired the very large format prints of certain photographers. I love what Andreas Gursky (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Andreas_Gursky) does (who doesn't...... - 2010-03-12

» How do you compare the quality of one lens to another?
So I bought a new lens and am happy with it, but I was just wondering how I could go about comparing its quality to another...even if only to reassure myself that the money was well spent :) I don't have test charts, what do you recommend? Thanks, --SeanTape some news paper to a wall and shoot the newspaper with the camera on a tripod (remote or self timer as well). Shoot at several apertures. Repeat with other lens...then compare the shots. You could also place various items of different colour and texture in the frame, also turn off auto settings either in camera or in software for a better comparison. Autofocus is probably best tested outside at various subjects, stationary and moving, in varying levels of available light. In fact I'...... - 2010-03-12
» Why do my dogs eat everything but their food?
the only food they will eat is wet food? they wont eat their dry food theyll eat dry cat food. they all ways dig in the trash and they eat poop all the time!Dry food can be very boring to a dog. If you give your dogs attention (even negative) when they steal cat food they are much more tempted, plus, they want what another has. For the dry food, try making it better smelling, the better the smell, the greater chance they'll eat it. You can accomplish this by adding cheese, shredded meat, mixing in canned food, adding applesauce, or adding water and heating it up as an improv for canned food. Don't even let you dog sniff the trash. It's YOUR trash, not their dinner. If they go near it, make a sharp "un, un" sound and...... - 2010-03-12

Hi All, I have just upgraded my forum to 3.7.2, from 3.7.1, and now no one can upload pictures, we just get a http 500 error.. it worked fine before.. The upload test makes no errors :( Anyone have an idea?Internal Server errors are generally related to either a server problem, or added code to the vB files and/or templates. To troubleshoot this, first reupload all the original vB non-image files (except install.php). Make sure you upload these in ASCII format and overwrite the ones on the server. Also be sure to upload the admincp files to whichever directory you have set in your config.php file. Then run 'Suspect File Versions' in Diagnostics to make sure you have all the original files for your version and that none show 'File ...... - 2010-03-12

» I have the same problem but when I push the dispensor water is coming from the bottom or the refrig. ?
How do I fix it? You have a broken waterline. Those waterlines are located near the heat of the condenser and compressor and they get old and brittle then crack. All you can do is find it and replace it. GEs had a problem with some models where the valve was right up next to the compressor and those would fail too soon. And Maytag had some that used a double valve with a "Y" connector that tended to break. In that case you needed the up grade valve and cut out the connector. But all you can do is open it up and find and fix it. Dear Cryo Crying, Since the valve is in the door and the water is running out only when you try to get water from the dispensor then that indicates the valve is leaking not the hose. Most dispensers ...... - 2010-03-12

» What is the range in stops for a digital?
So I am getting used to my new d70s and I was wondering. What is the range in stop from pure black to pure white for the sensor? Used to comming from slide film so tend to think in a 6-ish stop range. But anyone know if digital is larger or smaller in its range? Each camera/sensor/software is different...but from what I've read, a typical DSLR should have a latitude that is wider than slide film but not as wide as negative print film.I saw someone say that the D70 is slightly worse than slides, but they didn't post a source, so who knows. » Taking Photos at Night
I'd like to here from the pros about how to take the best night shoots from what I have heard, the "shutter"? needs to stay open. I use a NikonD100 and do not know how to do this, even after reading the manual. In order to make an exposure...the lens Aperture and the Shutter Speed...are controlled. The aperture is the hole in the lens, through which light travels (usually adjustable)...and the shutter is a curtain that opens for a specific amount of time. Modern cameras have a light meter built-in...which tells the camera (in auto mode) what size of aperture to use and how long to keep the shutter open. If it's dark (aka: at night)...then it will take longer for the camera to receive enough light for the exposure...which is wh...... - 2010-03-12

» Replacing aluminum wiring and fuse panel
Im redoing one of the rooms in the basement and putting a new bathroom beside it. The house has aluminum wiring and Im wondering whether to replace the wires with copper since I have the wires exposed. I was using a power saw in the basement and while using it the lights were flickering, which probably means a loose wire somewhere ~ additionally, now when I turn on the lights they go off occasionally for hours at a time. As a result I plan on replacing the fuse panel and all of the switches and outlets in the basement room and the bathroom. Is it worth the money to replace the wiring as well? Does it make sense to do it in just one room and one bathroom and leave the rest of the house aluminum? Also, is it worth going ...... - 2010-03-12
» Request: Add refresh IMDB / Get Thumb to context menu
I'm tackling the issue of adding the Movie Information screen and it strikes me that, given the information displayed on my standard views, it's quite redundant. But there are two important functions which are only accessible through it: Refresh and Get Thumb. Without these, obviously, you can't properly manage your database. Would it be possible to make these options available to the context menu as well?do you have a cast list in your main views? I don't think you can drill down cast like you can in movie info view. but that abilty would also lend to not needing movie info dialog.Adding more items to the context menu really isn't going to happen It is allready way too big even more so in the video library. http://www.football365.com/All_News/Breaking_News/story_85967.shtml Italy offered a friendly in Rome, while the Czech Republic were another option, but the FA eventually chose Denmark, who narrowly topped a Euro 2004 qualifying group also containing Norway, Romania, Bosnia-Herzegovina and Luxembourg. I would have been happier to see us test ourselves against the Czech Republic, can't remember us ever playing them, or at least not in the past few years. Denmark will be a bit dull and not much of an experience for the players. Perhaps a chance for people like Alan Thompson, Glenn Johnson, Joe Cole and of course Beattie to get a game. Is Woodgate fit? I'm specifically curious about the decline in the 1980's but any explanation will do. » CL: Nobody is out!
I thought I'd just contradict much of what and I and many others have said the past week. Nobody is out! Lazio lost ALL their first 3 games a few years ago, but nearly qualified because they were minutes from winning all their final 3 games and were very close. So in theory, even a team that lost all it's games the past 3 weeks could still qualify if they win the next 3 with a decent goal difference. Unlikely but true! Spartak have no chance because they have to play Valencia away, but Newcastle could possibly. They are definitely capable of beating Juventus at home. If they can somehow beat Feyenoord away, they will have a huge chance of qualifying with an easy win at home to Kiev who never win away. I don't think it will...... - 2010-03-12

My cat Sophie is about 4 years old and has a history of what appears to be "catching colds", although i suspect it is more serious than that (feline herpes?). Most of the time, the vet doesn't find any indication of an upper respiratory infection (if i remember correctly, she's never presented with a low-grade fever), but we put her on an antibiotic as a precautionary. These outbreaks happen about twice a year. She seems to recover after a couple of weeks. Last time she had it was December 2003, and it was quite bad. she was so stuffed up I had to give her a decongestant ("little noses" nose drops). Again, it resolved after a week or two. As with all consumer cams with small lenses and small imaging chips, will not behave well in low-light. If you use the camcorder within the operating ranges listed inthe manual it should be OK. Strongly suggest Canon flash memory series or any miniDV tape camcorder from Panasonic, Sony or Canon instead....... - 2010-03-12

I can get them on my computer but not my ipod.so when you first bought your ipod, it translated the computer's info. into "ipod" info. correct? so get the songs into your music ipod library by converting the songs from the music media player. there's a series of opening and closing things, but basically this is how you do it. ps: Apple wants you to buy songs from itunes so my method is going to take some mental toughness and patience to get around those Apple rules.open itunes(with ipod connected) .... open the folder your music files are saved in...select the files you want to move to the ipod....drag them to the ipod library...... - 2010-03-12
» Prefab cabins
I am looking for companies that make prefab cabins in the US. I would like to see if they have a nice cabin (i.e. 2-3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms)that I can import to Spain. A friend of mine bought one in Canada, and he is very happy. I am mostly interested in nice designs, easiness to send from the US to Spain and easiness to mount without specialized labor. The answer I expect is a list of companies with contact information, and some assesment on their designs and capacity to send abroad.Ola tautau, Is this similar to what you are seeking? Wasn't is great how republicans wait until they're almost out of office before finally admitting it? Why have they been in such denial? Shouldn't the new Democrats abolish the republican party for the domestic terrorism they've caused.Considering the hundreds of billions of dollars spent on warfare in the Middle East, I'd say that there are some very rich Republicans laughing in the face of nationwide recession. Bush and Cheney's friends have been leeching our economy unchecked ever since 2001. I laughed out loud when I saw the news a couple days ago and they "officially" announced it. » A rock has a volume of 800cm^3 and a weight in air of 33N, calculate the weight in water. Help?
You just need to compare the buoyant force upwards to the weight in air (33N). To do this we use Archimedes principle. This states that the buoyant force is equal to the weight of the liquid displaced. So find out how much 800 cm^3 of water weights. I believe the accepted value is 1gram per cm^3. So this would be 800 grams, or .8 kilograms. But this is a mass... So now the force of .8kg on earth is (using Newtons second law F=ma) .8kg * 9.81m/s^2 = 7.85N So we know that the water pushes 7.85 newtons upward and earth is pulling with a force of 33 newtons downwards. The resultant force is 25.15N downward. ...... - 2010-03-12

» This picture before us, what does it mean?
http://s156.photobucket.com/albums/t4/bi...Kyrie Eleison is a prayer used often by Catholic and Angelican faiths meaning "Lord, have mercy." The Association used it in the 60's in a song to protest the Vietnam war. It has since been used by many other musical artists. I think this picture is referring to a man being pulled into war and away from his family.Kyrie Eleison (Greek for "Lord have mercy"; the Latin transliteration supposes a pronunciation as in Modern Greek) is a very old, even pre-Christian, expression used constantly in all Christian liturgies. Arrian quotes it in the second century: "Invoking God we say Kyrie Eleison" (Diatribæ Epicteti, II, 7). A more obvious precedent for Christian use was the occurrence of the same...... - 2010-03-12

» PHP Classes Help VERY SIMPLE PROBLEM
Hi- I'm trying to write a PHP program that is like a supercalculator. What it does is take the input strings and then convert the strings into an array, one digit per space in the array. For example if '549' was passed it would be put in an array called digit and digit[0] would be equal to 9, digit[1] would be equal to 4, digit[2] would be equal to 5 and so on. (Notice the ones digit is 0, tens digit is 1 and so on) Now I am simply having a problem printing out my digit array for a defined object. I know the strings are being placed in the array correctly, because I print it out immediately afterewards (right in the constructor!) Hi all. I like people and food stands and cities, it's where I spend my life. the only food they will eat is wet food? they wont eat their dry food theyll eat dry cat food. they all ways dig in the trash and they eat poop all the time!Dry food can be very boring to a dog. If someone quotes someone in a reply (which happens automatically so much this is quite important) then the email notification is basically just the quote. So; when people reply to your posts all you get in the email is what you posted - which is clearly not that useful :) Perhaps we can just skip quotes for email notifications.Yesterday I made a thread with an option for the end user to select what type of E-mail notification to receive.

Does anyone know of a way to create superscipt number, or to hack it in dynamic text fields? I'm using XML along w/ a number of CSS styles and I can't find a way to achieve this. One option would be a nice small pixel font thats designed to looked like superscript numerals - so if anyone knows of something like this, let me know, thanks! creatifynevermind, found this: http://www.macromedia.com/cfusion/knowledgebase/index.cfm?id=1959ecebIf you render your text field as html, you can use ISO8859-1 entities to get a superscript 2 (as well as many other things). this.createTextField("txt", 1, 10, 10, 22, 22); txt.html = true; txt.htmlText = " 178;"; Edit: This forum likes to parse them as well, the entity is 178; without the ......

I wouldn't trust that.

» England - Denmark at Old Trafford Nov 16th
http://www.football365.com/All_News/Breaking_News/story_85967.shtml Italy offered a friendly in Rome, while the Czech Republic were another option, but the FA eventually chose Denmark, who narrowly topped a Euro 2004 qualifying group also containing Norway, Romania, Bosnia-Herzegovina and Luxembourg. I know that global competition was a factor, as well as increased automation, but it seems like these two can't be the sole reason. Is America producing as much raw materials and commodities as it used to?America's Middle Class Has Become Globalization's Loser At the beginning of the 21st century, the United States is still a superpower. The levels of each gas were high enough to be a serious health hazard to high-risk groups, including pregnant women, asthmatics, people with cardiovascular disease, children, and the elderly. The levels we calculated for some pollutants may pose risks for healthy people." Hazard from indoor pollution is highest...... - 2010-03-12

» Cat Sneezing with a runny, sometimes stuffy nose
» How is SONY DCR-SR 45E HDD HANDYCAM? please give your opinions.?
Decent cheap hard drive based camcorder. High compression on the MPEG2 video = video quality not as good as miniDV tape. As with all HDD camcorders, can shut down in high vibration (loud audio) environments; can shut down at high altitide (over 9,800 feet). As with all consumer cams with small lenses and small imaging chips, will not behave well in low-light. If you use the camcorder within the operating ranges listed inthe manual it should be OK.

I doubt it because its all fake and it tells you so. her is an excerpt: "While the articles themselves are mostly satirical jabs at Internet users (both individually and in groups) and phenomena, bear in mind that the Encyclopedia Dramatica itself is a parody of a much less funny on-line encyclopedia. As such, ED articles tend to make fun of the supposed objectivity and accuracy, elitism, and stupid edit wars of such sites. In other words...... - 2010-03-12

» Where can I buy PEVA Vinyl?
I am planning on making reusable sandwich wrap-mats as Christmas gifts. I searched the internet for a food-safe plastic or vinyl material. It seems that PEVA vinyl is food-safe and easily washable. My problem now is buying it. Does anyone know where I can purchase PEVA vinyl either in stores or on the internet. I found many shower curtains, but I either want to purchase a PEVA vinyl tablecloth or the vinyl from the bolt. Thank-you.You can try here, last time I checked they had some http://www.purplepostbox.com/buy/PEVA%20...Don't know.......
» Bird flu vaccine grown in monkey cells, not eggs
The Canadian Press "TORONTO An avian flu vaccine grown in kidney cells from African green monkeys instead of eggs triggered a good immune response at a relatively low dose, according to a new study that highlights the promise of so-called cell culture vaccine production. Baxter Bioscience has already applied to the European vaccine regulatory body for a licence for the product, the first H5N1 vaccine made in cell culture. The study and an accompanying perspective piece published in Thursday's New England Journal of Medicine, hail the technique - seen as the way of the future for flu vaccine production - as an important time saver during a pandemic." http://canadianpress.google.com/article/ALeqM5h21lncVhkSA7bulJcGkOZzz2VaSQ[F......

I know the strings are being placed in the array correctly, because I print it out immediately afterewards (right in the constructor!) But then the next call to that object using the 'justprint' function doesn&...... - 2010-03-12

Hi. I was thinking about adding some new forums. Any suggestions? Are you just looking for suggestions, or did you have any particular topics in mind that you think should be expanded? Maybe I'm too new around here to notice that, but I think the forum topics are pretty adequate for my needs. Just my $0.02.On the other hand, after thinking about this for a while, seems like the Troubleshooting section should be broken out into Installation Problems with everything else in its own sub-topic.
